I tried so hard this month to get excited for Fall, but when the temps were still in the 80s and no rain in sight, it sure was hard! I know it is just around the corner though, and while I don't wish time away I am looking forward to opening windows for that fresh air.
We planned an impromptu camping trip with some friends who just got their camper and it was...interesting. The campground was a little on the sketchy side, and everyone looked related. Yikes. Luckily we really like the people we did camp with and overall had a good time but probably won't be heading back !
Blair had her first week of school this month and she was SO excited. It was no fun dropping Colin off every day and she wasn't able to go to school! It makes me so happy she is in a 5 star preschool program and that she loves school so much (even if she did have to quarantine for 10 days after the first week of school!!)
Would it even be fall if we didn't pick apples at the orchard? Probably not. They didn't have my favorite, but we managed to get some pretty good apples and delicious donuts & cider. A perfect way to spend a half day of school!
I now have Blair all to myself on Tuesday and Thursdays. She is pretty easy going to watch really. She doesn't need attention or for you to play with her - she is happy playing by herself. And she loves to be outside riding bikes, going on hikes, you name it. We have fun!
Blair saw my rollerblades and wanted some skates of her own, only...they weren't exactly what she had in mind. She definitely thought she would be able to go much faster and was disappointed in how slow she actually went. Live & learn child!
Colin's school had a fundraiser this month, and every day he came home & complained about all the prizes everyone else was getting. To save my sanity, I asked immediate family to join the cause to get Colin some finger puppets, and he ended up getting so many donations he got a pedometer and 13 finger puppets! Definitely worth $300+ in funds.
We are all geared up for Halloween! Colin is going to be a hot dog and Blair is going to be a cat (she thinks our actual cat won't scratch her if she is dressed like a cat). We got pumpkins as well as some spooky decorations for the house & yard. I was trying to explain which house was ours to a neighbor and she finally said "Oh yours is the one with the gravestones and skeleton bones scattered everywhere!"
Oh yeah. Finally after months of asking, Colin finally got the coconut he's been asking for and his dreams became reality.
Anecdotal cuteness strikes again!
