We Survived the Month - End of Week 5

This month (and by month, I mean August 1st - September 1st) has gone quickly and yet slowly somehow. Despite the short amount of time, it is still hard to believe how much my life has changed. I feel like my whole list of priorities has shifted; sure, I like to have the house cleaned up daily, but it can wait. I'd love to take a long walk on a sunny 83 degree day, but sometimes the little tyrant  guy just isn't feeling it and you have to cut it short. The key to not going crazy is being able to adapt and deal with each issue as it comes.

Another milestone passed by this week as well - our third wedding anniversary. Chris' parents were in town so we were thankful they were willing to watch the little guy while we snuck out for a couple of hours to enjoy some long awaited sake and sushi! We both did a good job of not spending the whole evening talking about the baby. We spent some time reflecting on our relationship and some favorite memories (like, one time, how we were walking down the street and some guy stuck his hand out the window of his apartment and asked us to tell him the year on the penny that he was holding). I feel lucky to have someone I've been able to grow with over the last few years and even luckier that I actually look forward to spending the next 50+ years together. Never a dull moment but our baby isn't impressed.

We headed to Colorado Springs on Friday so Colin could meet his cousins from Oklahoma. Chris' sister has a 22 month old, and she had her second baby in April. Chris' brother had his first baby 3 weeks before the arrival of our little bundle of joy, so his family was very excited for the cousins to meet. It was fun to see the differences in the three babies, especially since they are all so close in age.
